The Lead Assembler will work closely with production and engineering teams to prepare components and assemble electromechanical assemblies to full systems. You will perform all functions related to the assembly process from picking component inventory through the final assembly of process equipment tooling, fixtures, and devices.


Responsibilities:

  • Main responsibility for the complete product, from production to delivery.
  • Team leader for the assembling work and process with support from all needed competence within the company.
  • Reports to Head of Operations.
  • Taking a leading role in developing and establishing methods and procedures for serial production.
  • Assembly the product based on production documentation such as, bill of material, process instructions, schematics, mechanical drawings, pictures, and other diagrams.
  • Constantly work with improvement on production processes and documentation.
  • Assembly and adjust completed units to ensure that units meet specifications, tolerances, and customer order requirements.
  • Assemble parts or units, position, align, and fasten units to assemblies, subassemblies, or frames.
  • Position, align and adjust parts for proper fit and assembly. Connect tubes according to specifications. Disassemble units to replace parts or to crate them for shipping.
  • Ensure that incoming parts meet the specified requirements.
  • Conduct tests and inspections of products or processes to evaluate quality or performance.
  • Monitor operation, including gauges, dials, or other indicators to ensure the machines are working properly.

Qualifications:

High school diploma and a minimum of 6 years of related experience required. Associate degree in mechanical or electrical field preferred. Must have experience in the assembly of mechanical mechanisms, wiring, and cable harnesses. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.


Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Capability to lead a production group.
  • Excellent communication skills, including verbal, written, and listening.
  • Use logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions, or approaches to problems.
  • Troubleshooting skills
  • Judgment and decision-making skills.
  • Flexibility to work overtime.
  • Knowledge of vacuum system technologies and clean room experience is helpful.
